Electric Vehicles & The Incredible Growth Opportunities In India

Global electric vehicle infrastructure investment has surged over the last few years. The growth can rise to $15 billion by 2020 and $90 billion by 2040. However, this projected growth presents many challenges for utilities due to the lack of regulation on charging infrastructure and uncertainty around cost-recovery mechanisms such as net metering or time-of-use tariffs.

Charge+Zone has created India’s first-of-its-kind electric vehicle charging station to overcome this issue. In addition, the company has devised a unique design for its charging stations, called ‘smart’ stations.

The intelligent station design installation can take place without professional help (as seen in other EV charging stations). They come with all the necessary components required for installation, such as A universal socket and a control panel.

Charge+Zone is a venture by Kartikey Hariyani, an entrepreneur passionate about electric vehicles. The company was founded in 2018 and started operations from Vadodara.

The company aims to become India’s household EV charging brand by 2025. They will provide solutions to all vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, trucks, and buses. They also plan to give chargers for other vehicles such as motorcycles, scooters, and even bicycles.

It is a new-age Private Charging brand that provides its customers with a complete range of EV charging solutions. The company has been working tirelessly to ensure that they are the ones who are at the forefront of the EV revolution in India. As a result, they have been able to bring the EV charging station market to new heights by providing an excellent experience to their customers and providing EV charging options at affordable prices.

The brand has been investing heavily in EV charging infrastructure. We have developed several proprietary technologies to efficiently manage EV charging load at dedicated and opportunity charging points and provide power management services for EV converters and manufacturers.

The company is now expanding its operations to several new markets, including Europe, Middle East & Africa (MEA), Latin America & Caribbean (LAC), and Asia Pacific (APAC).

Over the last years, Charge+Zone has evolved into a tech-driven EV charging infrastructure specializing in capturing services.

They are catering to dedicated and opportunity-based charging using intelligent grid networks.

They have been progressively investing and developing large EV charging hubs for various e-mobility companies such as Ashok Leyland and GreenCell Mobility, among others, and serving 5000 EVs daily.

Deploying clean energy-powered EV charging stations and a robust EV power management interface will help mitigate the projected burden on existing electric grids and prove to be a financially viable option in the long term for EV owners. In addition, solutions such as net metering or power banking could help absorb peak demand generated through EV charging.

However, this can only be implemented by anticipating, planning, and preparing for various deployment scenarios.

The company has been in operation since 2018. It has successfully deployed over 1,000 commercial EV charging stations in India, thus making it one of the country’s largest privately-owned EV charging networks. The charging station network covers more than 5,000 locations across India.

These are the first five highways in India to get electrification under the DOCO model and

Torrent Ahmedabad has selected Charge+Zone for five public charging stations, and installation will be at parking lots and public places.

Along with highway electrification tender from CESL for Mumbai to Goa as Eastern Peripheral Highway around Delhi NCR.

We are adding another 2500 km of highways (2x from the current stretch) in Southern India.

These two highways by CESL are the top priority projects. They will help reduce fuel consumption by reducing noise pollution from trucks, buses, and other road vehicles.

The company offers various services under its umbrellas, such as home and business access to E-mobility, independent energy providers, and regional energy system integrator (RESI).

To offer their customers a hassle-free experience regarding electric vehicle (EV) charging. The company also has tie-up with renowned brands such as Mahindra Reva, Toyota Kirloskar, and Tata Motors.

The company’s vision is to be an associate partner for Indian government agencies such as the National Energy Policy (NEP) Committee on Electric Vehicles (NEPCEV), the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, and several other leading automobile manufacturers/petrol pumps across India.

“We want anyone who owns an electric car to use any public charging station hassle-free. Without worrying about getting stuck at a public parking lot or gas station due to the lack of available charging stations,” said Kartikey, Director of Charge+zone.

Their proprietary Mobile App lets users quickly locate charging stations on the map, reserve an EV charging slot, and pay using various modes.

The platform is cloud-based and built using ReactJS technology, making it easy to develop applications without much coding or expertise. The charge is a simple, convenient, and secured mobile application that allows users to reserve and pay for electricity at select charging stations across India.

The brand aims to transform the world’s reliance on fossil fuels by enabling more people to drive electric vehicles.
