Johnson & Johnson Collaborated With Acommerce to provide Sustainable Packaging solutions for better E-commerce

aCommerce Group, the largest end-to-end e-commerce provider in Southeast Asia, has partnered with Johnson and Johnson Philippines, a healthcare company, in a joint venture to provide a sustainable packaging alternative and a 100% recyclable solution in the Philippines.

The solution was developed through large-scale collaboration to reduce e-commerce waste and create a sustainable future for e-commerce in Southeast Asia. It is expected that the amount of plastic saved from this initiative will be 106,68m² of plastic, equivalent to the area of 25 basketball courts.

The new packaging solution that will replace previously non-recyclable packaging materials with new, innovative, green, and simple packaging will be available throughout August.

The paper used in the new packaging has 100% recyclable, non-toxic, and biodegradable.

The innovative VoidFill acts as a filler to the box, replacing the plastic bubble wrap and providing superior damage protection by filling any excess space in the box.

An extra layer of padding is added to fragile deliveries to provide exceptional control against shock and vibration. A final layer, Geami WrapPak, is added to prevent surface wear, minor handling damage, and internal impact.

The two companies’ sustainability goals are naturally similar.

“As part of our responsibility to the environment. aCommerce will continue to invest in a sustainable future. We are delighted to offer recyclable and biodegradable solutions using state-of-the-art materials engineering. We are truly fortunate to have like-minded partners like Johnson and Johnson working together to create a cleaner future,” said Paul Srivorakul, Group Managing Director at aCommerce.

“We are committed to doing our part to deliver a better world for future generations. We’re excited to pilot the green e-commerce initiative with Shopee and Lazada, knowing this “first step” will help reduce plastic pollution that occurs in our landfills and waterways. We hope our consumers will take advantage of the offer when they order their favorite Johnson and Johnson products through Shopee and Lazada. Our consumers win and so does our environment,” said Denise Peralta, director of e-commerce at Johnson and Johnson Philippines.
