Virgin Atlantic and IndiGo have announced a new codeshare agreement

Virgin Atlantic and IndiGo are pleased to announce a new codeshare agreement between the UK and India. This creates a seamless connection and more opportunities for frequent flyers to score more points than ever before.

The codeshare partnership will allow customers who book a Virgin Atlantic ticket to take the airline’s flights from London Heathrow to Delhi and Mumbai, with connections to seven other cities in India. Later this year, the agreement will expand to a total of 16 destinations across India, with connections to Virgin Atlantic’s extensive US network operating via London Heathrow.

The deal allows Virgin Atlantic to sell seats to passengers transferring to its Indigo flights. Initial codeshare destinations in India include Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, Delhi, and Mumbai.  The additional destinations will include Kochi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Vadodara, Indore, and Visakhapatnam.

The new codeshare agreement will allow Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club members to reach their rewards faster, with opportunities to earn both Virgin Points and Tier Points available on every codeshare with IndiGo.

This will not only provide a seamless travel experience from London to up to 16 destinations in India but also open international trade opportunities across the country through improved accessibility. We look forward to welcoming Virgin Atlantic customers aboard our sleek, clean aircraft, said Mr. Ronojoy Dutta, Chief Executive Officer and Wholetime Director, IndiGo.
