Challenges:


The global population residing in rural areas has shown slow growth since 1950 and is expected to reach its peak soon. Presently, the rural population worldwide is approximately 3.4 billion and is projected to have a slight increase before declining to 3.1 billion by 2050, which would still represent 32 percent of the global population. 

As of 2018, Africa and Asia housed nearly 90 percent of the world’s rural population. India has the largest rural population with 893 million people, followed by China with 578 million individuals. Over the past 25 years, there has been remarkable progress in reducing poverty globally.
