According to a press release on the official website of the Japanese entertainment conglomerate, Konami Digital Entertainment is looking to expand into the web3 and metaverse spaces with new hires.
The company, best known outside of Japan as a video game developer and publisher, is currently recruiting “a large number of talents in “system creation” and “service development” to deliver new experiences such as WEB3 and Metaverse.
In Konami’s infrastructure development division, specifically vacancies in system design, programming, project management, and business development. In addition, the production and operations department are looking for a producer, director, programmer, designer, and project manager.

Finally, the production support division of the company is recruiting legal, intellectual property, finance, and accounting.
Although traditional NFT games were the last to become a controversial topic over the years, Konami has clearly brushed aside its critics and is ready to embrace it. The company specifically explains that it plans to “launch a service where players can trade in-game NFT (digital products) through a unique distribution platform using the blockchain.
A footnote in the official press release states that Konami is developing a unique digital product distribution platform , which follows the PCA, Japan Web Association, and Mobile Content Forum Blockchain Gaming Regulations Konami previously tested the proverbial NFT waters in January when it sold a collection of NFTs through OpenSea, netting more than $160,000 at the time. Some video game-focused media like Kotaku chimed in, as did many other video game experts and critics.
