The Sabarmati multimodal hub project is expected to be completed by 2023.

According to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, The Sabarmati multimodal hub, built as part of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed rail project, is expected to be completed by January or February next year.

On Tuesday (September 13), Vaishnaw visited the Sabarmati multimodal hub, which will connect commuters from high-speed rail, Indian Railways, Ahmedabad Metro, and Bus System in Sabarmati(BRTS).
He said, “They are being renovated into modern terminals with a rooftop plaza and concourse.”

Vaishnaw said work on the Mumbai section of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed rail will begin as soon as all necessary clearances, including environmental and forestry clearances, are promptly received after Eknath Shinde took over as CM of Maharashtra.  The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has taken over Bandra-Kurla station.

We conducted a road test from Gandhinagar station to Sabarmati station by riding in a test vehicle. At Sabarmati Station, Vaishnaw also visited One Station then he went to the construction site of the Sabarmati high-speed railway station and reviewed the progress.

The Minister of Railways also viewed a miniature model of the upcoming Sabarmati HSR station. He was briefed by NHSRCL officials about the various developments and progress made on the project. He interacted with the workers and raised their spirits by appreciating their efforts in nation-building.
Vaishnaw also visited Jhulta Minar in Ahmedabad and conducted a detailed inspection by going to the top of the structure. Restoration of this heritage structure is planned in conjunction with IIT Roorkee and other specialized agencies.

According to Vaishnaw, pillars for the 80 km stretch have been constructed and all ball stations have been built. “Work on laying bridges, viaducts, rails, and aerial equipment is progressing rapidly,” he said.

Tenders for the construction of the undersea tunnel will be launched soon, Vaishnaw said. The Minister of Railways has reconfirmed the statement made by Union Minister Amit Shah last month that Kalupur Ahmedabad Railway Station will be rebuilt in the style of the Modhera Sun Temple. The pillars for the 80km section have been built and construction of all ball stations has also begun. “Work on placing bridges, viaducts, rails, and overhead equipment is progressing at a rapid pace,” he mentioned.

The government will approve the initiative, the minister added. The renovation of the Sabarmati station has been initiated.
